5/27/2023 0 Comments Audyssey setup guide![]() the centre channel level is far too low, so most speech gets lost in amongst the front channels unless it's a scene with very little other audio. the FL channel is much lower in output level than the FR (my main seating position is off-centre, directly in line with the FR, so about 0.8m closer than the FL) the RL channel is physically further away than any other speaker (4.2m as opposed to 2.2m of the RR) rear channels are both over-powering, but RL moreso When looking at the data such as distances, etc they are all correct (measured with a tape measure to primary listening position) While it gets the EQ per channel right, the levels are all over the place for my room/ setup. Well, i've run mine several times over the last few days and will be going back to manually setting the channel levels. I've been reading the AVS forums threads and all the FAQ's about the setup and benefits of using it and all in all everyone has said how much better their systems sound. I'd only used it to set the base curves to get the EQ's for each channel close to being right and then manually set distances and levels from my listening position to my own "preference" levels. I've had my Denon AVR2809 since new in '09 and never really understood the whole benefits of the Audyssey calibration.
